Gail Judy and Ronnie McBride
spent the weekend with Gwen and
'Bob McBride
Mrs. Marvin R,outzon (nee Flor-
lence Hayter) is visiting relatives,
in this community.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Taylor and
family, spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Bruce Keys and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert McBride sp-
•ent the weekend at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Knill, Paris.
The Goshen and Varna Young
Peoples Union have been invited
to Brucefield to view the film
"`Martin Luther" on Sunday even-
ing, March 23.
The Woman's Association of
Goshen held a very successful
nroldnole party in Varna hall,
Friday evening. There wai also
u short program consisting of a
recitation by Gerald Hayter, a
dance by Dianne and Karen Mc-
Qnley, a piano duet by Mrs. Mel -
Patricia Robinson and a comedy
musical number by, Mrs. Robert
Peck, Mrs. Claire McBride, Gail,
Gwen and Robert McBride, Donna
Dianne and Wayne Peck.
Rev. T. J. Pitt acted •as chair-
man for the program.
Mission Band
The monthly meeting of Goshen
Mission Band met on Sunday,
March 16. The meeting opened
with a Japanese song 'Acorns".
Gwen McBride read the minutes
and gave the roll call: Donna
Peck gave the treasurer's report.
The president, Marlene Keys con-
ducted the business. Gregory
Armstrong answered the birthday
roll call.
It was decided to have a booth
at the bazaar and to have a fish
pond. Garden seeds will be sold
again this spring.
A story "Adventure with Shoes,"
was read by Mrs. Claire McBride.

allegory. Some of your readers
may not get the meaning, but
others should have no such dif-
ficulty.
A FABLE BUT NOT
ONE OF AESOPS
Once upon a time there was
a public meeting which was well
attended. There was a lot of hand
shaking and back patting, after
which, with great pleasure, there
were some officers elected. It was
a great victory.
The tide, instead of ebbing and
flawing twice in twenty-four hours,
came in early to celebrate the
victory. Had the celebrants been
teen-agers they would have been
bad boys.
The moral of this story is
"Rover should move over, he is
a big dog now."
