Attended Funeral
Quite a number from this com-
munity attended the funeral on
Sunday of Yeoman Alwinkle,
Stanley Township, who passed
away . Friday morning, February
28. He is survived by his wife,
the former Anna Aikenhead,
Brucefield, a daughter Joanne, a
son Gerald, his mother, Mrs. Mar-
garet Aldwinkle, Hensall, and two
brothers, Dean, Stanley Township,
and Group Captain Robert Ald-
winkle, RCAF Ottawa. The ser-
vice was held from the Ball and
Mutch funeral home, Clinton, with
interment in Baird's Cemetery.

Honour Past President
Directors of the Stanley Town-
ship 'Federation of Agriculture
met at the home of Mr. and. Mrs.
Elmer Hayter, on February 27, to
honor their pastpresident, Alex
McBeath and his wife, who was
lady director.
Progressive crokinole was play-
ed with Mrs, Bruce Keys and John
Robinson winning first prize and
Mr. and Mrs. George Reid the con-
solations.
The president, Elmer Hayter,
read the address, thanking Mr.
McBeath for his fine work and
appreciation of his untiring ef-
forts.
.Elgin Porter, vice - president,
presented Mrs. McBeath with a
china plate and Mr. McBeath with
a billfold.
Mr. McBeath thanked the direct-
ors for their suport and wished the
Federation every success in their
woth-while service to the farmers.
He also thanked Mr. and Mrs.
Hayter for opening their home for
the evening.
Mrs. Jack S'cotchmer was con-
vener for the lunch.

New Official
The regular meeting of the
trustees of SS 5, Stanley, was held
at the school on February 28.
John Robinson was appointed
secretary -treasurer, to succeed
Milton Pollock.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Roberts
and family, St. Thomas, visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Rob-
inson on Sunday.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Arnold Keys on the birth of their
daughter in Clinton Hospital.
