Third at London.
Glen Greb, Zurich, placed third
in class 172-10 ears corn compe-
tition, at the 20th annual Middle-
sex Seed Fair, held in London last
week. First prize went to Eric
Finkbeiner, Crediton,a nd second
to Gary Rowcliffe, Exeter.
This years fair drew 1,160 en-
tries, with 226 different exhibi-
tors, and a record crowd of 11,000.

On Tuesday afternon, February
25, the elementary school teach-
ers of the Hensall District unit
attended their February meeting
at Zurich Public School.
Mrs. Jessie Oesch, president, in-
troduced the guest speaker, J. G.
Gorman, inspector of the area. He
emphasized the importance of hav-
ing teachers certificates up to
date, He also itemized the equip-
ment each school should have to
make teaching interesting and in-

Girl Guide News

On February 28, the Girl Guides
held their weekly meeting.
This week the Shamrock Patrol
had a test while the Oriole Patrol
practised tying their ties.
The marks, which were given
back to the Oriole Patrol, resulted
in the highest being 25.
The meeting was closed at nine
o'clock with a campfire and the
girls singing several songs and

After the meeting Court of Hon-
our was held. It was opened with
the Guide Promise. Captain. Webb,
Eleanor Prang, Elizabeth Bannis-
ter, Patsy Brisson, Sharon Law-
rence, Mary Ellen Thiel, and Carol
Fischer .presided at the meeting.
It was decided that every time
a Guide misses a meeting she is
to bring a note from her parents
explaining her absence.

Pearson Motors
Are Remodellirag
Pearson Motors are completely
renovating the interior of their
stock room department at their
garage. When completed they will
have room for $8,000 worth, or
more, in factory -approved Gener-
al Motors parts.
The work is being done by two
local contractors, Napoleon Car-
riveau and Donald Oke. They ex-
pect to be finished in about two
weeks.
