over -paid athletes or artists per-
form. Will we gradually lose the
ability to amuse ourselves, by our-
selves; to entertain our guests
without the ever-present televis-
ion program?
So remember then, while you
"hive modern" learn to "live mo -
erate," too, and that aipp
lies television as well as anything else.

The Silent Treatment
Do you get the silent treatment
too,
Tell me, wives, what can we do?
Breakfast time — is it essential
He , must read of "Joe" or
"Mantle".
Though, we may, with timid voice,
On any topic of your choice,
Try a bit of conversation..
Husband responds without elat-
ion.
Just an absent-minded grunt.
He doesn't put up any front.
We take a second place 'tis plain,
To morning papers, shine or
rain. •
Patiently we wait and see
If for a moment he'll be free.
There's a list of things to do
These better wait until he is
through.
Sport page done --expecting more,
We try again to get the floor.
But, crest -fallen, silent still,
We must wait through "Wild
Bill".
Then there's "Cap -n -Stubbs" and
"Jane",
It's a wonder we keep sane.
There's the whole day ahead, of
course,
Better patience, not use force.
Scarce this decision reached, be-
fore,
Husband rushes for the door.
A short "Good-bye" is all we get
From husbands wno once called
us "Pet".
Dinner the weekly "Post" is here,
No better luck at noon I fear.
Night comes, now lets relax and
sit
Over coffee and talk a bit.
Talk of what we need to do,
If this month's cheque will see
us through,
Perhaps a little. word of praise
Might our daughter's interest
raise
In her work at school and home,
Attention she's deserving some.
But now, rhe blaring voice of
Wyatt
Draws my husband like a mag-
net,
He must go and watch TV.
He really hasn't time for me.
