Mr. Kalbfleisch, and Mrs. Kalb- fleisch, (the former Margaret Schnell) were both • born and rais- ed in Zurich. On February 4, 1908 they were married iii the Lutheran Church parsonage in Detroit. For many,, years Mr. Kalbfleisch op- erated a very successful lumber business in that city, before they retired to Zurich eight years ago. Mrs. Kalbfleisch is now 78 years old, while her husband is 80. They have no children. Many beautiful floral bougquets adorned the dinning room table in the hotel, and many lovely gifts were received by the couple. Distant guests at the dinner included Mrs. Kalbfleisch's broth- er, Ferd Sc'hmell, Winnipeg, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Kalbfleisch, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Kalbfleisch and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Kalbfleisch and family. all of De- troit, nephews of Mr. Kalbfleisch. Also attending were nephews and nieces from the Zurich dist- ' eiet and the Rev. and Mrs. O. Win- ter. The Citizens News joins in wish- ing themall the best in the years ahead. Hartman A farewell party was held at the home of Mrs. Kuno Hartman on Tuesday evening, January 28, for her son Michael who will be transferred from the Bank of Nova Scotia, Exeter to a bank in Toronto. The evening was enjoy- ed by dancing, accompanied by Clare Masse and Gerald Hartman on the guitars. Martha and Fran- cis Corriveau entertained by sing- ing many of the popular hits. Tal- ented Victor Denomy played his tenor saxaphone accompanied by Clare Masse on the .guitar.
