Midget Game
Zurich Lions Midgets gained re-
venge for the previous trimming
by Clinton Midgets, when they
trounced the bays from the north
by a score of 6-2. It was the
best performance turned in by the
Midgets so • far this season. They
were playing without the he of
star centre man Bob Johnston,
who. suffered broken ribs in the
game at Clinton earlier in the
week. The locals suffered another
blow when. Brenner received a
cracked wrist in the first period
and had to be taken to the doctor
for repairs.
Zurich opened the scoring early
in the first period on a nice goal
by Gerry Overhoh with Brenner
getting the assist. Two minutes
later Livermore tied the score
for Clinton, and that finished the
goal -getting for the initial stanza.
Jess. Corriveau started the sec -
and period off with a, bang at
2.40, with assists going to Over-
holt and Willert. However Schoe-
nhals came back at 8.05 to again
tie the game. Just one minute
later Bryan Jeffrey put the Zur-
ich boys in the lead with the assist
going to Corriveau. This proved
to be the winning goal of the
game, as. Clinton could not get
the puck past Dennie Amacher
in the Zurich net for the rest of
the game.
Overholt scored early in the
third period to make the count
4-2 for Zurich, and then three
minutes later he scored his third
goal of the game, giving him. the
hat trick for the nicht. Jeffrey
scored his second goal at the 13.31
mark on a beautiful passing play
with Willert and Overholt.
16 minor penalties were called
in the game, 11 to Clinton and
five to Zurich, as the boys still
seemed tq carry a chip on their
shoulder from the previous meet -
Ice Too Soft
For Curling Fans
Curling activity the past week
has been very limited due to the
mild weather and soft ice. Many
new members are being added to
the list, and all appearances show
a very active club being arranged.
On Thursday night all meMbers
are asked to come to the Hensall
Arena, where the ice has been
rented for the entire evening. All
the members will get a chance to
curl and see just how much fun
it can be on artificial ice.

Peewees Were Not
Able To i-Jie
Sixty boys showed up at the
arena on Saturday morning, only
to be badly disappointed in finding
the ice covered •wjth water. The
bays were members .of four' teams
that form the "Little N. H. L:",
and all of them turned out for
the big doubleheader • games that,
take place each Saturday morning.
Maybe the answer to avoiding
such disappointment would be the
installation of artificial. ice in the
arena.
However, to .rnalce up for the
missing of their Saturday morning
games, chairman of the Hockey
Camanittee, Gordon Block, has ar-
ranged an exhibition doubleheader
with Exeter for -this Wednesday
night. The Squirt game will . be-
gin at 6.30 p.m., followed immed-
iately by the Peewee game.
Coyne out and watch these real
young fellows play hockey; you
are sure to enjoy it.
