FIND STOLEN -CAR
A -1955 scar stolen .from south of
Drysdale Saturday last, was eleover-
ed in Peterborough Tuesday night
last, and two men were arrested by
police. Charged with theft, the two
men were brought to Goderich by
019? Constable Ross Bed, svrla in-
vestigated. Owner of the car is Leon
L. Bedard, who lives north of Drys-
dale. A Toronto roan, Jack, McKe,wn
reported a purse stolen from 'his
vehicle, ,parked about two miles south
o:i the stolen car,
Had Splendid Meeting
The annual meeting of the Zurich
Branch of the Upper Canada Bible'
Society was, held in the Evangelical
U. 13. 'Church, with a very large at-
tendance. The newly ,appointed Se-
cretary of the London District, Rev.
Mr. Thompson was present and
showed some interesting slides as
well 'as moving pictures of the work
that Society is doing.. The other
laical churches .withheld their regular
services to let people go to anis in-
teresting meeting. Mr. Bruce J.
Klopp who was president of the loc-
al -troncih for ?Eche pest five years, was
replaced by Mr, '.Menno..Steckle wlee
has been secretary treasurer for that
period of time,

BY-LAW NOT OPPOSED
No objections appeared at an Ont-
ario Municipal Board hearing at God-
erich an Sept. 13th of a bylaw to
control the set -backs from. the road
allowance of all future buildings and
structures on land adjacent to county
roads. The :bylaw was passed by co-
unty council at its June session. R.
C. Rowland, representative of the 0.
M.B., informed the hearing that the
decision would be reserved but told
thein that he would r•econiuninct that
this bylaw be approved.. County
officials were asked to file with the
OIMB copies of the nine weekly news-
papers of Huron County, snowing
that necessary advertising procedure
had been carried out according tothe
net. Present at the hearing were
