WHEREAS the Government of Canada has by
statute designated Monday, November 1 1, as
REMEMBBR4NCE DAY
AND WHEREAS it is .).esirable, in view of the

essity for remembering those who fought and sacri-
ficed in World Wars 1 and 11, that we should observe

ada are observing this day and es -
pecially those who have close to kin
who gave their all, are more oeeply
grieved. Let us observe the day in

had to go back to the hospital again
suffering a relapse but is now re-
cuperating from a heart concrition,

gue for the 1957,58 season. Other
earns entered in the grouping are
Parkhill, Liman, Forest, Ilderton, Ilx-
eter and Clinton.: The schedule will
be drawn iv at a meeting to be held
n Wingham on Nov. 13th. .A good
seasen of hockey .is anticipated by
the many local fans in this area.

Late Alfred Justus Melick
Alfred Justus Mack, a lifelong
resident of the community passed a-
way in SoutheHuron Hospital, Exet-
er, on Friday November 1st, in his

Mich; one sister, Mrs. (Mabel Hudson
of Seaforth.. The remains rested at
the Westlake Funeral Hoene till Mon-
day neon when rthey were removed,

Church where funeral service was
held at 2.00 with the pastor Rev. A.
M. Araacher ,officiating, and was as-
sisted by Rev. W. F, Krotz of Dash-
wood who preached the sermon. The
funeral was largely attended by re-
latives and friends, and the floral
tributes were many and beautiful.
Ladies' Aid Meet
St. Peter's Lutheran Church
The monthly meeting of the Luth-
eran Ladies' Aid was held in the
basement of the church with 31 me-
mbers, 4 visitors and pastor present.
Mrs. Lorne Rader had charge of
the -program which was opener; with
the singing of a hymn, the eeeding
responsively Psalm 100, followed by
a prayer from the pastor. Ruth
Weido played her cornet and itienne
Thiel with her saxaphone played sev-
eral duets. .Master Gerald Mader
sang a solo accompanied at the piano
by Dianne Thiel: These numbers
were very much enjoyed. Pastor
Winter spoke on the Probrom of
Sin which was inspiring.
The President, Mrs. Finkbeiner
,took the chair for the businese sess-
ion. The visiting committee reported
making 8 ealls, A donation was kiv-
en to the appeal for the Canadian
National Institute for the Blind.
Mrs. Tiedt", sister of '111r.s. Winter'.
spoke to the gathering on conditions
in South Afriea which was very in-
teresting.
A vote a thanks were exeee cod to
the ladies in tharge c'f the Rail)
which was 'held in the Communi0
Centre, also the ladies in charge of
having the basement re -decorated.
The Zurich Ladies have accepted
an invitation to be guests of tho
Dashwood Ladies Aid and are look-
ing iorreard to this et-to-gether,
The meeting closed with the Lead's
Prayer, Wm Bari Weido, 'convener
the lunch, served a lovely lunch. '
