Thursday, O:etober '24th, 1951,

Washington, D:C., where he will be

Major has been in the Marine for
16 years, and during that time had
been stationed at many points 'in the
U:S.A.. The Marine Soldier was
,born in this vicinity in the nearby
14th Concession and when only two
years of age moved with his parents
to Detroit. The Seargent Major'e
parents are Mr and Mrs Walter Jaffe-
rey fofin"ter residents 'of this parish.

Tractor Mishap Injures Stephen Tp.
Farmer.
Mr. Joseph McCann, 34, of R. R.
3, Dashwood was seriously injured
on Saturday morning, Oct. 1St, where
run over by his tractor. In 1'reuar-
ation for threhing in the afteennon
he and his nephew were drawing
gravel on the barn bank. He had
left the tractor in gear and un
knowlingly cranked it, starting up it
carried Mr. McCann and part rne t7 e
back door with it dropping

feet to the straw yard below. For-
tunately the wagon broke free tractor
remained in barn, but the big n him
wheel 'broke oil' and landed o n the
fracturing his left leg
knee and hip. He received ii.te er-
ous cuts about the head and
