taxes without penalty, and we. trust
that every citizen of the community

We notice in our last issue or so
there was the occasional "r" instead
of the letter "h". It took just a lit-
tle time to trace up the Mishap which
proved to be that one of the €r' mats
which make that. letter was running
down the channel of the 'h' letter.

try to spend the anniversary together
These twins are now 78 years of age,
and are both in fairly good health.
Mr. Waite being very active for a
man of his years. It is very unusual
for twins to reach so advanced an
age, and their many friends hope
they will be able to spend many more

HAYFIELD'S FOUNDER
- According to recent reports the
pioneer from whom Bayfield gets
its name; Admiral Baylield, is to have
a memorial monument at Owen;
Sound. 'The two men who conduct -
and in a few instances ihchangedthe thr earliest scientific surveys on
meaning of the word. But a little halie Great Lakes, Admirals Bayfield
and Owen are, to be jointly horishat

PLAY PRESENTED
The play "The Girl in the Fur Coat'
a comedy,- given by and under the
auspices of the Waheld Players of
Ithe United Church, at Hensall, was
'presented in the town hall to an aud-
ience that filled the hall and Was en-
joyed by all present. It was one''
the best start to finish that had been
given- there for some time and re-
flects credit on Miss Ellis, teacher
and instructor of the class and all
members. Rev. A. Sinclair, pa:Stor of
the United Church, presided; while
the Tauemner orchestra added great-
ly
to the pleasure of the occasion by
well rendered selections. The follow -
lowing were in the cast: Mildred'
Scruton, Delbert Geiger, Davy Kyle,
Pearl Elder, Lettie Love, Mildred
Smillie, Lorne Elder, Verda Watson,
Ted Munn, Jack Corbett, Gladys Pas-
smore.
Presentation
On Tuesday evening of last week.
the Young People of St. Peter's
Luther League with their pastor,
Rev. E. Turkheim, gathered at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ila.berer
and pleasantly surprised Mr. and Mrs
Karl Haberer, bridal couple. After
a short devotional period, the remain-,
der of ,the evening was spent in proe
gressive flea. The grand prize taken
by Miss Margaret Haberer. While
the consolation prize was won by
Gordon Block.

Hallman of New Dundee. To the

by the Rev. Mr. Fleming- of New
Dundee before an arch banked with
flowers in shades of white, yellow
and gold, in the presence of over 30
guests. During the signing of the
register, Miss Miriam Hillborn sang
"0 Promise ,Me," after which the
clergyman introduced the bridal co-
uple and they received congratulati-
ons. The bride was attractively gown-
ed in a white seersucker satin fashi-
oned on smartly tailored lines with a
short train and wore a short veil in
place with a coronet of orange bloss-
oms. She wore the groom"s gift, a
handsome watch and carried a bou-
quet of American Beauty roses. She
was attended by her sister, Miss Ed-
ith Merrier of London, who wore a
gown of pale green oranga trimmed
With point d'esprit and black velvet
and carried yellow mums. Morgan
Hallman supported the groom. The
bride's' Mother, Mrs. E. F. lVferner,
in piaci( lace and wearing a corsage
pred roses and the groom's mother
in•sand crepe and a corsage of pink
carnations received with the bride.

luncheon ' was served. The bride's
table was centred with the cake, and
decorations in mauve tulle, caught

accessories to match. Amid showers
of confetti and good wishes the happy
couple left on a motor trip through
