Death of Mrs. Cochrane
After an illness of about a year's
duration, Mary Jane Jarrott, widow
of the late Mr. John Cochrane pas -
.f. -ed away on Friday, November 22nd

medical aid and tender nursing cou-
ld do to relieve her constant suffer-
ing were unavailable. Truly, a de-
voted mother, kind and reaey with
loving advice and help to others'
hospitable to a high degree. Mrs.
Cochrane was held to the highest re-
gard by her family, neighbors and
friends with whom she will be lunch
missed. --- She leaves to mourn her
loss four sons and seven daughters.

The service was conducted by Rev.
E. F. Crandler. Many beautiful
floral tributes. • Interment was made
in Hillsgreen cemetery. The pall-
bearers were four sons and Maurice
i Farquhar and Alex McMurtrie, gran -
i dsons. Those coining, from a dist-
ance to attend the funeral were:

years, has resigned his .position and

A big railroad party was held at
the home of Thos. Shaddick on Thurs
day eve last when station agents and
their staffs and the section men from
Hyde Park to Clinton gathered here
to do honor to Mr. Shaddick who re-
tired from the service of the C.N, ,,.
recently after 34 years of faithful
service. Mr. Shaddick • entered the
service of the C.N.R. at Londesbora
and after five years there came to
Hensall where he has been section
foreman for the past 29 years,
Hensall's oldest resident, Mrs.' Jos-
eph Hudson, celebrated her95th'
birthdah last Wednesday. During `the,
day a great many relatives and fri-
ends called at the home, to cute is
their good wishes. Mrsfl Hudson al=
so received many telephone calls and
telegrams from members of the fain-
tly. She also received a number of
beautiful presents. She has 'spent
most of her life in the district, and is
in fair realth, enjoying life any her
many friends extended congratulati—
ons.

Annie McInnes, widow of Capt
Joseph Noble, who sailed the- lakes ill

89th year, was born in Scotland, and
