The Election
Monday was Dominion wide elect-
ion day, an opportunity which usua-
lly comes once every live years. The
last federal election being the latter
part of Tilly 1930. Andsince that
date Canada as well as other. countri-
es have, we are told, passed through
the greatest depression the world has
seen in modern times, or at least to
our time. But as we Iook back over
these years we notice that our gov-
ernments have not felt this as keen-
ly as the individuals have. They have
kept on borrowing and spending mon-
ey as though we were inthe midst of
the most prosperous times. Just look
at all the edpensive paved roads, and
other large expenditures that have
taken place during these years.
Hon_ R. B. Bennett, the first mil-
Iiona r Premier of Canada, was at
the. head of the Dominion governm-
ent the last term, but his party was

the candidate in the Town Hall, on
Saturday, there was a good turnout,
14! and good addresses were given. Un-
10 forttnately there was a person pres-
ent whose interruptions were uncall-
8, ed for and it was found necessary by
7' Constable Jul Block to remove this
7 ( unfortunate person from the hall.
16 •Some people are under the impress-
ion that since its is a public meeting
they can go there and interrupt as
muuch .as they like. But we should
always bear in mind that the hall is
being paid for by the political party
and that anyone attending is only a
guest to the ones in charge. No
one will object to a sane question be-
ing asked but to go- there with the in-
tentions of' heckling, or disrupting
the meeting is entirely out of place.
