Large truck loads of good quality of peaches visited the fair on Tues day, and the local merchants also also received large shipments of this most delicious fruit. The quality of the peaches is very good this year and there must be an abundance of it in the Niagara, district, as after it is trucked up here, the price is still quite reasonable. After seeing ;everything the Falls offered they ?;began to inquire for a bus to see Winnipeg, Vancouver and other po- rints of several days 'travel, all in a ;few hours. Somehow, there seems to be something lacking in the geogra- ,phy teaching system in the schools 'across the line. It must be '.)orne in mind that the United - States map could' be set on the Canadian map and a good deal of the Canada map would not be covered. However, the U. S. A. has about ten times the population o Canada. Surely we, in Canada, have plenty of room for expansion. DASHWOOD Born to Mr. and Mrs. Herb Wein a son on Thursday September 19th. Avery, M.L.A., Lincoln called a me- eting in St. Ctharines to discuss means of preventing such a disaster. He said increasing sale of beer had practically killed the Ontario mark- at narkat for native wines.
