Confer Honor on Dr. Dafoe
The merry little country doctor
who brought the five famous Dionne
sisters into the worldwas at Ottawa

stantly in their private hospital.
Holiday Set by Clergy
Thursday, October 24th, has been
set as Thanksgiving Day. Requests
f the clergy resulted in the return
this year to the celebration of Thank-
sgiving on the accustomed Thursday,
rather than on Monday it was learn-;
ed from. the Premier. "Until about 201
years ago, Thanksgiving was always
celebrated on a. Thursday. 'The day
was set aside for thanksgiving, and
the celebrations were of a religious
character. In reality, it represented
the 1ri:•uroph of the material over the
spiritual conception of this national:
luiliday. 'This year, yielding to the
very earnest requests of the clergy
