Many Auto Accidents
Motor car accidents in. Western
Ontario over the week -end were with-
out fatalities but brought injury to
15 persons. Five of those injured are
in district hospitals with severe in-
juries. "At Goderich five occup-
ants of a car that plunged over a 50 -
foot embankment and into the lake
front cottage suffered only rainor in-
juries.
Achievement Day
The second annual Huron County
Achievement Day is being held in the
Board Room of the Agricultural
Office, Clinton,- on Thursday, Aug"
ust Sth. A number of interesting
classes have been arranged for •com-
petition among the girls in the Co-
unty who are interested in junior
work. At this meeting the team of
three girls will be chosen to take
part in the Inter -County Judging
Competition at the Canadian Nation-
al Exhibition... Exhibitors are requi-
red to have their exhibits in place by
aen. but a number of the interest-
ing :features of the day's program
will be held during the afternoon
session which commences at 2.00. A
special invitation is extended to all
members of Junior and Senior Inst-
itutes and altey to any other interest-
ed ladies in the County.
