Wiley of Detroit. Late Nathan Peck 'On Wednesday June 19th Mr. Lathan Peck passed away at the home of his' son Bert Peck on the 'nylon Line :Stanley. He was in 78th year and,.was a son of the .Ute John. and Naz%y Peck and was the last survivine;'artember of a fam- %r of eight.$'e was born on the BBabylon Line, where he spent most i f:.his life: He was a siiccessrul far- er and built up for himself a fine inn property. Of a family of two sons, the eldest, Dr. Vv ylaner Peck passed away in 1925 and Bert M. survives, living on the homestead farm on the Babylon line. Mr. Peek was a pian of fine charecter and was held in high esteem by all who knew him,. He was a faithful and active member of the Methodist church and later cif the United' church. The funeral, 'which was held on Friday to Bayfield sem- 1 etery, was largely attended. Rev, A. Sinclair of Hensall, assisted by Rev. H. G. Bandey of Varna,having cha- rge of the service. The pall bearers were: Geo, Douglas, H. Howard, Wm, Consitt, F. Coleman., H. Horton and S. Zuefie, DRYSDALE Mrs. Rachel Denomme of Detroit is spending a few weeks holidays with her sister and brother, 'Miss B. and Mr. E. Mousseau, Visitors at the home of Mr. and 1VLrs. Ed. Brisson last. Mrs. Stephenson and Mrs. Harvey of Detroit returned home after sp- ending a week with their mother,who was ill, Mrs. Geo. Denomme. Mrs. Frank Corriveau and Mrs. Alex M:eidinger returned home .after spending a week with the former's daughter, Mrs. E. Masse or Detroit. Mrs. Matilda Rendeau .of Detroit is spending the summer months at the home of Mr. and Mrs J. Ducharme. The Messrs Louis Montague, Rud- olph Corriveau and Gordon Bedard motored to London last Sunday. Miss Blanche Rau is spending the summer months with her mother, Mrs. Phoebe Rau. Miss Gaberil Cantin who has been in London for some time is home at St. Joseph for a few weeks. Mr. Clifford Corriveau of Detroit is hone for the summer months ow- ing to _ill health. Mr. iPeter Corriveau, of near Blake we are sorry to say is quite poorly. Mrs. Victoria Denomme has been in Detroit for some time, her daugh- ter being very ill. DASHWOOD A- Strawberry Social will be given under the auspices, of the Ladies .Aid of Zion 'Lutheran' Church on Wed- nesday eve. July 3rd. Supper will be served from 5 to 8 o'clock.
