In our last week's; write up about
the King's Silver Jubilee celebration.
in Zurich we omitted one very iui-
portant fact and that was the flying
of the big flag on the town hall. This
obviously is not put up very often,.
as we do not recollect when it was
put up last, and the two brave cit-
izens who volunteered to erect it
namely, Ken Routledge and Charles
Thiel, had • considerable difficulty till
they had it up suitably. As the wire
that runs through the pulley at the
top of the flag pole did not work,
the boys selected another pole of
equal length and attached the flag to
this other pole and then lashed the
two poles together, which made.
very good job of it. At its best it
is not a convenient flag to erect es
one has to climb on top of the ha
to get at the flag pole, as no rope s
attached that will reach to the eart
so that it could be pulled up aioi'i
conveniently. v
