REPORT FOOD SHORTAGE
Gouerich-Not m many years has
farmers feed been so scarce in this
district as it is this spring, due to
pat'i.u... iaLuire Oi WSJ. yu'ar S crop in
ownships along the shore of Lake
Huron. This is practically true of
nay and straw. In some or slie town-
ships the majority of mows are bare
and farmers have been forced to pur
chase elsewhere. Hay is selling at $18
a ton, the highest in 15 years. The
straw last year was short and a
scarcity was foreseen months ago.
The situation With regard to grains
and roots is better, but will have to
be fed sparingly to last until the
grazing season rolls around.
