C.A. Reid, Juvinile Court Judge.
The accustomed winter quietitude
of the Magistrate's court was not
disturbed in any great measure when
the case of L. McNairn of Seaforth
was up for hearing, the charge being
keeping for sale. Wilfred O'Rourke,
a young man of excellent family,
was party to the charge, having been
found in a re,turant with a bottle of
what, was alleged to have been home
brew in his possession. While he de-
tailed the manner of its coming into
his possession, it developed into a
question of his word against that of.
McNairn and the result was a stand-
off. McNairn was allowed, to go
O'Rourke to appear to hear what the
magistrate thinks about his having
the bottle.

The main aim of the weekly news•
paper as the name implies, is to give
news of its own district. It may have
other aims, such as to give the mer-
chants a chance to tell of their goods
in its columns or to try to influence
public opinion through its editor•
ials; but first of all it must give the
news. Someof this news is not easily
obtained and no editor can cover it
all without assistance. Especially is
this true when you have visitors.
Many of the ladies think that per•
sonars are the most interesting read-
ing in the whole paper. Your visitors
are usually glad to have their names
appear, so send them in. Sometimes
people come in and give the impres-

when they want us to insert the
