The community was shocked on Thursday, January 251h to learn of the rather sudden passing of Mr. Solomon Martin, of the Babylon Line', Hay Township, who passed a- way very suddenly with heart failure of which he has been a sufferer for about eight months, but no one - ex- pected his departure so early, as late he was quite, bright and cheer- ful. The late M. Martin was born in Waterloo County, and came with his parents, Solomon Martin married to Lea Schantz when he was. a year old, the parents taking up the farm on which the departed lived all his life and where he passed away. De- ceased had reached the age of 68 ye- ars, 5 months and 4 clays. He was a very 'cheerful and genial kind of a man, and had many friends, and one could not help but like Mr. Mar- tie once you became acquainted. Be- sides his sorrowing widow (Elizabeth Guenther) one daughter. (Lylyan), Mrs. Oscar Grab, survive. Also two sisters, Mrs. (Rev.) H. Leibold, of i 1'rinsevilie and Miss Martin of Lon- (llon.
