I A very happy event took placet 'the home of Mr. and Mrs. William ,':leader on Tuesday evening January 1.15th whene a miscellaneous shower was held in honor of Miss Verlyn Thiel, ,bride elect, eldest daughter of *Ir. and Mr`s. William Thiel. When \terlyn .entered the home she was ushered to a chair under the archway Which was prettily decorated in pink AA" white. Mrs. Harry G. Hess took her place at the piano and while she played -the wedding March, Master Gordon Hess acting as groom and little Pauline Hess as bride in a white sleeveless embroidered dress of ankle length and a white chiffon veil cau- ght up with orange blossoms a nd carrying a bouget of pink roses, looked very attractive as they drew in the wagon laden with beautiful gifts and placed it in front of the bride elect. Miss Verly Thiel, after opening her gifts thanked each one for so kindly remembering her. The evening was spent in games in which every one present took an active part. Annual Report - T• he Sixtieth Annual Report of The Hay Township Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Company for 1934 is being 'nailed out to the various policyhold- ers, also tri , annual =lenders. The Company had another good year fin- ancially with a ere loss of $10,367.091 vtiliich was distributed over 44 claims. The total cash receipts were $22,129.- 164, of which $11,599.85 was collect- 1'ed on instalments during the year. The total expense of management is $2,342.40, and the cash on hand and in banks is $5,941.43, as compared with the balance at beginning of the year of $8,202.01. There 'were1988 policies in force Dec. 31, covering an insurance of $7,744,120.00. The total 'assets of the Company are $60,142.34, and the total Premium Note residue $205,090.64, while the liabilities are: Losses reported and not adjuster $700; Unearned prem- iums $4,597.32.
