Two Year Terms
A question that is being discussed
in some townships is the advisability
of lengthening the township council-
lor's term to two or three years.
Many ratepayers think that the con-
stant flurry and expense of yearly
elections is not worth the candle. -Ex.
Huron Old 'Boys
The 32nd annual meeting of the
Huron Old Boy's Association met at
Toronto on the eve. of Dec. 4th and
as usual, a large attendance or mem-
bers from all parts of Huron County
attested the strength of the organiz-
ation, its present membership is more
than 1200. For the first time in the
'history of the organization the gen-
eral secretary, Ed. Floody was absent
He has been confined to his home
with pneumonia. The new president
is George Ferguson, formerly of Br-
ussels, and under his leadership the
Association is assured to continued
progress. After the election of offi-
cers euchre and bridge were played
and there was much good humored
competition for the many prizes.
Man may follow a thousand delus-
ive meteors, but the only true light is
the light of God's countenance. -F.

At Goderich Council
At the session last Monday night
the Goderich council passed the by-
law arranging to bring the proposal
for refinancing the Goderich Organ
Co. before the ploele at the munic-
Ipel elections on J..... ', and also pas-
sed the bylaw providins the elec-
tion itself. In addition it listened to
E. R. Drennan explain hov, C
vent of of beverage rooms had affected
his business until there was almost
nothing in the way of revenues to be
had fro mthe bowling alleys. The fee
was reduced to $30, at that Drennan
is not sure it is worth while operat,'
ing. The same reduction applies to
the new bowling venture of Parsons
and Mumby, they will only have to
pay $50. B. E. Wambold was given
permission to nial<e and sell pork,
sausages, the fee charged being $25.
