Rev. C. Schrag, who has been all
with heart trouble for some weeks,
we are pleased to say is able to be

Mr. Leonard Birk was a week -end
visitor in town. Mrs. Birk, who

another, Mrs. Routledge, returned

Dr. and Mrs. H. II. Cowen spent
the week -end at Fergus, where they
visited with the former's parents,' The
father having gone through an oper-
ation.
Rev. Father S. McDonald of St.
Marys is the newly appointed parish
priest of St. Boniface R. C. Church.

The annual public Thank -Offering
;ervice of the Women's Missionary
Society of St. Peter's Lutheran
.church will be held Wednesday .ev-
ming, November the twenty-eigth.

miscellaneous program consisting of
a children's number, a presentation
by ten W. M. S. members, a reading
and a. pageant entitled "To Lighten
the World's Darkness," has been pre-
pared. Eech and everyone is most
cordially invited to attend this serv-
ice.

Annual Meeting

Mr. Andrei' Weber had one of his
;)reeding ene.;e play a rather unique
trick on h n. last Thursday when

young goslins. The occurance was
anknown to the Weber family, that
:he goose was hatchi,t, as 1.:.e had
a perfect hiding place where sue
spent the four weeks of hatching
and brought forth the fruits of her
labours. Just when kh. Weber will
market this crop of goslins we don ot
know, but we think it will require
a great deal of extra feeding to have
:hem ready for the Christmas din.

Mitchell spent a few days with her
mother, Mrs. J. Guenther.

ing her daughter, Mrs. E. Guenther.

Hockey Club Hold Euchre
The euchre sponsored by the Dash-
wood Hockey Club, in the furnit-.:'.
store of David Tiernan on Mends';
evening proved a decided success.
Fifteen tables were in play. The hon-
or prizes were won by Miss Ella
Martinson and Milford Merner; and
the consoleations by Miss Amelia
Willert and Mervyn Stade. The com-
mittee responsible for the success of
the evening were, Clayton Pfile, El-
gin Merner and Louis Fisher. Lunch
was served at the close. The officers
of the Hockey Club are: President,
Thomas Klumpp, Vice -President, Ad-
dison Tiernan; Secy., Treas., Clayton
Pfile; Manager, Sidney Baker. It
was decided to hold a similar evening
on,lVlonday, December 3rd.
Dashwood E. L. C. E. Entertains
Crediton Young People
The young people of Crediton w�•-
re the guests of the League of the
Dashwood Evangelical Church last
evening at a well attended ,L� nded meet..g.
A splendid program was given by the
visitors, a special feature being, a
religious drama, "A Sinner Beloved"
which was well presented. A piano
duct by Misses Lovina Smith and
Marguerite Amy, a male quartette
and an adds c : > by Rev. Pletch were
other interesting numbers of the pro-
gram. The drama was presented
under the direction of Miss McMas-
ter. IVIiss Ella Martinson, the local
president, in a few well chosen words
thanked the visitors for their atten-
dance and the splendid program. At
the close of the program the memb-
ers of the leagues repaired to the
basement where refreshments were
served and a social time enjoyed.
..The annual meeting of the Zurich
Branch of the Western Ontario Bible
Society was held in the town hall on
Sunday afternoon with a goodat-
tendance, and a rather enthusiastic
meeting. Rev. E. Turkheim opened
the meeting with devotional exercis-
es, after which the president Mr,
David Gingerich appointed C. L.
Smith as chairman for the meeting.
The election of officers resulted as
follows: President, John E. Gascho,'
Vice Presidents, the various Clergy -
nen of town; Secretary Treasurer,
Mrs. E. F. Klopp, Auditors, D. Gin-
gerich and C. L. Snaith; Advisory
^,ommittee, Mrs. J. Hey, Jr., Mrs. A.
P. Hess, and Solomon Bechier.. The
amount collected for the past year
and sent to the main branch at. Lon-
don was $46.02. After the business
part of the meeting the District Sec-
retary, Rev. Denny Bright of Lon-
don gave a very interesting address
on the work in general carried out
'sy the Society, and at the close of
're meeting a hearty vote of thanks
