A number of villagers attended
the big barn fire on the farm of Mr
Percy Johnston, seven allies north of
town last Thursday evening. The
fire took place about swell o'clock,
of unknown origin, and the loss will
be around four thousanddollars, as
considerable stock and. -equipment
went along including an entire
horse. The loss to Mr. Jahnston is
doubly hard as it is only a few ye-
ars since he purchased this fine farm
from Mi... Ed. Johnson, and at that

Sunday, May 13th, 1934 marked,
another great day in the history of
St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich
celebrated the dedication of their
fine new pipe organ which was re-
cently installed by the Edward Lye
& Sens, of Toronto. This fine in-
strument we would think now com-
pletes the modern equipment in this
live congregation's house of worship.1
Its color blends very well with the
other surroundings, ,and with the!
high fir ceiling in the church thei
organ produces a fine, soft and deep
tone, so much sought for in churches.
Rev. E. Tuerkbeim; the pastor, had
charge of both morning and evening
worship, while Rev. C. C. J, Maass,
of Detroit, and a former pastor of
the church, delivered the sermons.
The morning worship was conducted
in the German language, and the
dedication rites were observed at
this service. The evening service
was in the English language, and I
the large auditorium was filled to 1
capacity, with standing loom at a -
premium during the organ recital
which followed the evening service.;
The organist for the day was Mr.
Dennis Powell, of Toronto, and he
took his part very capably. After the
evening service he gave a recital
when he 'very expressively played the
following numbers; Le Cre'puscule
by C. F. Davis; Intermezzo by Drum
Steen; Largo, by Handel; Andante
con Moto and triumphal Mareh by
