Sucker fishing was a popalar
sport last week in. the Maitland
river, during the night time. Last
Tueshay might four Goderich young
men reported a big catch at the
,Maitland River falls. They used
nets, bringing out seventy-five to a
hundred fish at a time, and the
night's catch amounted to about a
ton. The fish were shipped to Lon-
don for sale.

supply of power to farmers. Contrac-
ts can be made for 5 years instead
of 20 years if municipality passsuch
by-laws.
The following resoletions were
passed; Whereas the cost of cutting
weeds along the Township Roads. is
considerable each year, and whereas
the Council of the Township of .1 -lay
is of the opinion that this 'amount
can be greatly reduced if every Ow-
ner or tenant residing in the Town-
ship of Hay and Police Village *a-
