Phone 140 at Dogs Destroy Geese Thedogs of the community seem to use the "`Mountain" in McKillop as a gathering place or some kind of dog forum, and their rnischievfous conduct is a source of annoyance and loss to the neighbors. The other eve ening three geese were destroyed by dogs in a field behind the barn on the farm of G. Aberhart, who has suffered loss in previous years from the same cause. Some time ago dogs attacked a turkey on the farm and were beaten off by a valuable gob- bler which died later from wounds. In Police Court Wm. Nesbitt of- Blyth appeared before Mag. C. Stimulated Egg Market The satisfactory out -turn of last year's storage egg deal and the new developin:ent of the export trade dur- ing the past year are factors which will lend a stimulating effect to tlae egg market during the corning spr- ing. Another factor which perhaps, htas not been given sufficient consid eration is. that -.the demand for eggs for the manufacture of frozen eggs is much more, aetive this spring than .year• ago. Market- ing Board would indicate that too many unfinished spring lambs are be- ing offered for sale at the Union Stock Markets, Toronto. Of the num- ber of spring lambs reaching the Yards, during the week of April 2, it 'is estimated that some fifty per cent. were not properly finished, in- dividual weights being less than 30 pounds. If producers are to profit ;through the marketing this other- wise choice product, it is recommend ed that spring lambs be properly finished to a weight of approximately forty pounds. This can be effected only through extending the feeding period. .Purebred Cattle Sale Type and production sale of pure- bred Holstein. cattle, herd at Guelph on April 10th brought a top price of $155.00 for females and $152.00 for bulls, the general average being -aging lamb and wool prices, there are many inquiries for breeding ewes It is to be expected, that there will be a broad market :for all classes of of ewe stock in 1934, The strong demand for wools on British, Aus- tralia, and New Zealand markets in- dicates a very healthy condition, in so far as the outlook for 1934 is concerned. World production is esti- mated to be lower, and the wool market for 1934 is encouraging.
