ASSAULT CHARGE
Further developments in the strife
which has • rent the board of trustees
of the police Village of Bayfield have
developed with the laying of an in-
formation by Mrs. Martha Bailey,
secretary of the board, charging Mur
aock Ross, its chairman, with . com-
mon assault. .A. date for the hearing
which will be held at Bayfield, has
not been fixed owing to the almost
impassable condition of the roads,
The assault charge arises out of an
altercation at the inaugural meet-
ing of the .board on February 5th.
In a struggle for possession of the
minute book, Mrs. Bailey claims to
have been roughly handled. Her nec-

Dehorning Cattle
Experience has proved the great
advantage from every standpoint of
dehorning commercial cattle, and a
great benefit would accrue to the
live stock industry if all commercial
cattle were dehorned. Every effort
should therefore be made to attain
this object, and it more than merits
the active support and cooperation
of the press, and all institutions and
organizations interested in the live
stock industry to encourage the pra-

The revised. Dominion egg grod-
ing regulations recently passed at
Ottawa are noW in force in Ontario
for all sshipments. The former grade
names of fresh specials, fresh extras

have been changed o A-1, A, B, and

purpose of the revision is to enable
the farmer to bd paid on a quality

for the consumer to tell what he or

Champion Egg Eaters
Although compared with some ot-
her countries, the per capita consum-
ption of poultry in Canada is relati-
vely low, Canada retains the egg -
eating championship with 28.36 doz-
en eggs consumed per heart of popu-

consumption of poultry by each in-
habitant of the U.S.A. in that year
was about 18 pounds, of which '7.1
pounds were hens and chickens. Al-
together 112,241,206 pounds of po-

well maintained. In June last year
according to the bulletin, "The Agri-
cultural Situation," isued by the Do-
rrainion Department of Agriculture,
the number of hens and chickens on
farms in. Canada was 54,943,000.

While it is likely there will be
some temporary price declines dur-
ing the 'present year, the trend of
)tog prices appears upward. Market
supply prospects are for a moderate
volume during the first half of the
year, followed by a fairly substantial
increase, prospects for export ap-
pear to be satisfactor,y and the re-
strictions eadstin.g on exports from
