taming these elements will be prg-
ent, particularly with a rapidly gro-
wing bird or some producing a large
number of eggs. Under free range
gondittione, these minerals elements
will be obtained largely through the
ordinary feeds, and the greed food
insects, and grit that are picked up
on the range. When fowls are more
or less closely confined, it becomes
necessary to supply the mineral fo-
ods and the question • of the most
sssusitable form in which they can be
obtained becomes; important.
The Poultry House
The poultry. house 20 feet deep
on the Experimental Station at Har-
row has always shown, its superior-
ity over houses of shallower con-
struetion, particularly` in exposed
situations. There is a more com-
fortable condition, a freedom from
draughts, and a higher temperature
in a house of this depth, providing
the north, east, and west waIis are
tightly constructed. At this season
of ,the year high, cold winds find
their way through cracks and cre-
vices in a house which appears to be
storm proof and a check-up some
