Rev. E. Burn is preaching • ire Dash-
wood, to -night, and presiding at the
Quarterly Conference in the Evang-
elical church.
Last Wednesday afternoon, ended
the half holiday season in Zurich,
and the merchants and. business men
in town will now have to settle down
to steady going of six days to every,
week, with exception of when there
is a public holiday, till next June
when they will probably decide on
observing this weekly half day of
relaxation. . -
The annual Thanksgiving Day will
be celebrated next Monday, October
9th, as according to the proclamation
issued by the Government. This is
a Dominion wide holiday, and the
object of the day is to thank our
Providence for the many blessings
bestowed upon,,us during another
season of harvesting. • While things
are not as good and as• abundant as
some years ago, surely ',we all have
many things to be ,then ful .fjpr, and
we should not neglect .9f observing

At 9.30 Monday morning, at St.
Peter's R. C. Church, a very pretty
wedding took place when Marie, see-
ond'' youngest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Laporte became . the
happy bride of Willard, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Corriveau, with the
Reverend Father L. Marchand, P. P.,
o*ciating
The young bride, smartly gowned
in white satin, wearing bridal wreath
and veil with accessories to snatch,
entered the chcurch to the "Bridal
Chorus" played by the organist, Mrs
Montague, and was given away in
marriage by her father. . Her flowers

After the nuptial knot was tied High
Mass was sung by the choir; at the
offeritory Mr. Wilfred Corriveau,
cousin of the groom, sang beautifuly

At noon eighty guests sat down to
a -very appetizing dinner, 'which had
been prepared bychoice cooks. At
4.20 allinvited guests motored to the
bridde's home, where again an ab-
uirlant meal was prepared and ser-
,ed by cooks no less able that the
first meal.

itors with relatives here.
Dashwood Band attended Bayfield
and Iiderton Fairs last week. This
being ten years in succession that
Dashwood Band has furnished the
music at Ilderton.
Burglars practically cleaned out
the garage of H. S. Wein last week,
jimmirig the lock of the back door,
they entered the premises and stole
all the stock of tires, batteries, bulbs
and tools including an electric drill
and motor and Mr. Wein's car to
carry away 'the loot 'removing the
cushions first so there would be suffi-
cient room to load the material. Dis
covert' of the robbery was made by
L. Bender and G. Rosendahl at 4
o'clock. Mr. Rosendahl having risen
