This will be held in McKay Hall, Goderich on Thursday and Friday, October 5, and 6th. It is said that the last oc- casion vn 'which the two Associations met together was in 1905, at Clinton In Police Court Norval Precious and Charles Kent, 'Goderich young men, were arrested ern two Charges of theft, and on '"FROM HEI L: to HEAVE ' pleading not guilty were remanded to jail for a week. The young men are charged with entering the home of Wm. S. Morse at Grand Bend and steabing $250 in American mon- a ey and also'with entering the home of J. Garlint, Grand Bend, and ste- aling $27. An automobile allegedly purchased by Precious with stolen money was taken by the police. A warrant has been issued by Walker- ton police for the arrest of Precious an several robbery charges, but the charges laid by the local police will be answered first. The aftermath of a Division Court case between Wilbur Stewart and Lloyd Young, both of Colborne Tp., which was wan by the latter, was heard in Police Court, when Young alleged he had been struck by Stew- art after the hearing in Division Co- urt, had the latter charged with, as- sault. Mrs. E. Burn returned home to Zurich on Monday evening, from vis- iting• friends in Milverton. Miss Rose Albrecht who spent a few weeks at her home here return- ed to Woodstock last Thursday. Miss Elizabeth Truemner of De- troit, spent a week with her sister, Mrs. L. Prang. Mrs. Joseph Meidinger, of Vicks- liurg, Mich., was a recent visitor with friends here for a few days. Dr. and Mrs. Alex. MacLeod, of •Wroxeter, spent Wednesday with the latter's father, Mr. Peter Koehler. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Rowe left on Friday for Toronto, where they will fake up studies in the Normal School Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hess enjoyed a few days camping in the Pinery Wast week. The concert in the town hall on fair night put on by the Young Peo- ple of Zurich, promises to be full of laughter and fun. Don't miss it. As we go to press this Wednesday we learn of the passing of one of Zurich's pioneer residents in the per- son of Mr. Thomas Johnson, whose departure occurred early this Wed- nesday Morning at the fine old age of 87 years, 8 months and 27 days. The funeral will be held on _Friday, from the family residence, Zurich at; one o'clock and thence to the Bad- en Lutheran cemetery where inter- ment will be made at four o'clock. Mr. Johnson was the oldest i,usiness man in Zurich living and was highly respected by all who know him. A more complete obituary will follow in next week's issue.
