Reith. has made consider- able improvements to the lower story of his business block. The glass front on the north side has been taken out and a nice coat of asphalt shingles covers the boarding up. E. Oestreicher. Lutheran Strawberry Social The annual strawberry social of the Dashwood Lutheran church was held on Monday evening in the ch- urch shed with a large crowd in at- tendance. Rev- Luft acted as chair- man for the program which opened with selections by an orchestra com- posed of Rev Luft, Mrs. W. Stade and Lois Kraft with Miss Helen Luft at the piano. Other numbers were a duet by Misses Reta Fassold and. Helen Luft. A whistling solo by Al- vin ' Rader, accompanied by ,:-Miss Laura Rader, a piano solo by Miss Mildred Luft and a monologue by Esther Martene. The closing numb- er was a playlet entitled "Jane's Leg- aojl by • iii nitildfong, Kathleen Merrier, „n[ ra. Martene, Milford Merrier and Ed. Hamacher. Schlundt, GRAND BAND Mr. and Mrs. Norman Turnbull and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mousser spent a few days with friends in Michigan. Gill—Turnbull A quiet wedding was solemnized at' the manse, Grand Bend, .on. Sat- urday, June 17th, when Mabel Anna- belle, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Turnbull, became the bride of Edward, only son of the late Edward and Mrs. Gill- of Grand. Bend. The bride wore a gown of white Russian. crepe and carried a bouquet of orange blossoms, roses and fern. She was attended by her sister, Miss Olive Turnbull, who was gowned hi blue crepe. Little Miss Audrey Gill, niece of the bride acted as flower girl; wearing a `pale blue organdy frock and carrying a basket of roses and ferns. The best man was'Mr. Joseph Baker, cousin of the groom.' Following the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home where a dainty luncheon was served to about twenty-five guests, relatives of the contracting parties. The home was beautifully decorated with roses and ferns. •The groom's gift to the bride was a manicure • set of pearl amber; to the bridesmaid, a cameo necklace; to the flower . girl a signet ring and to the, groomsman a pair of gold cuff links. For trav- elling the bride changed to a dress of maroon crepe with coat, hat, gloves and shoes of grey. The honeymoon is to be spent on a motor trip to St. Marys, Hamilton and Niagara Falls. On their return Mr. and Mrs. Gill will reside on the groom's splendid farm on the banks of the Aux Sable river near Grand Bend. HILLSGREEN Rev. E. F.
