IN MEMORIAM
(Desch -_In loving memoory of my
dear husbranl8, Elmer, who depaeted
this life one year ago, February 14th
1932:
No pen. can write, no tongue can tell
My sad and bitter loss.
But God alonoe has helped me well
To bear my heavy cross..
The years they wipe out many things
But this they wipe out never,
The memory of those happy days
When he and I lived together..
Softly missed by his sorrowing
wife, (Mrs. E. Oesch.)
CANCER STILL A P'UZZZLC
Because the span of life had been
increased twelve ' and a half years
since 1900, and because more people
were living past the forty -year mark
there was more cancer today. There
were 3,800 cases in Ontario last
year. The medical profession, Dr.
Robb, of Toronto, said at Godeiich;
recently, -did not know much about
cancer yet, but they were trying. • t'o
keep it at a standstill,. Of the cases
35 per cent. -could e cured or as-
sisted by the use of radium and it
was the conviction that this percent-
age could be increased by the estab-
lishment of cancer centres, which
had been undertaken. One would
likely be established in London. Early
diagnosis was the important thing.

first time that "talkies" were in the

keen interest taken in agriculture.
