This case some months ago took several hours to. give the evidence, and the Judge or- dered the two gentlemen with their solicitors to retire to the council chambers in the basement of the hall and settle it among themselves, which after a few hours deliberation was .finally done. The next case was Raiig vs Jaeobe for the possession of an iron kettle, This ease took considerable tune. As at a local butchering t ,Cse ket- tles in some way got mixed, and Rar- ig took out papers and had the ket- tle heeclaimed seized. Three men in the audience were salt out to ex- amine the two kettles and reported that there was not five cents differ- ence in the valuation of the kettles, and the defendant statedthe same, and expressed that it was immaterial which kettle he had, only to retain his dignity he let it come before the judge. However the plaintiff had witnesses to the identy of his article and the judge allowed hire possession of the kettle. 3. G. Stanbury of Ex- eter acted for the plaintiff in this case. The last case was Rose vs Berard. The defendant in this ease had endorsed a note that was being held by the plaintiff, but said he had no money to pay on the note, ao the Judge . granted hint till. the October sitting of the Court to raise some in the meanmean bine, and also the defend- ant is to bring along his brother, who is the first party on the note; and had received the value thereof.
