deavouring to save the country to

ther the difficult sea with which it is
now .contending. Only through co-
aperation not the co-operation of any
political party in particular but the

play" of all right minded people re-
gardless of creed and whether they
be -niban of agriculturists can our
ship ride again. While we cannot de-
maral that co-operation, as the gov
ernment at the helm five can at least
appeal unreservedly and unashamed-

Miss Ida Brill underwent an oper-
ation for removal of tonsils on Wed=
nesday morning.
Mr. George Gram of Hensall, was
a business, visitor in town on Mon-
day.
Mr. Lloyd Eidt, of. the Bank of
Montreal staff visited over the week-
end at his home in Ingersol.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Fee and Mrs. H.
Lipphardt of Hensall, were visitors
in town on Friday.
Mr. Sol. Zimmerman who was quite
ill recently is improved so that he
can sit up at times.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. O'Brein and Miss
Olive; and Mr. and Mrs. Gid Koeh-
ler, motored to London on Saturday.
Mr. George Edler of near Elmira,
is spending a few weeks with his da-
ughter, -Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Weber
of the Bronson Line.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Truemner of
the 14th con., entertained a number
of their friends to a sumptuous fowl
;dinner en. Sunday.

honeymoon trip on Monday evening,
and are getting settled in their home
adjoining Mr. Deichert's business.

Casper Walper will be pleased to
learn that he is improving •as rapidly

ite] improvements will be back home
again in a few days. Mr. Victor
Dnichert of the Blind Line, Hay who
was also taken to London Hospital
last week and operatedon for appen-
dicitis, is improving very rapidly al-
so.

Deichert—Kalbileisch
A. very pretty wedding was solem-
nized on Wednesday afternoon, Jan-
uary 4th, at 1.30 o'clock, at the St.
Janes' Lutheran Church, Elmira,
when Miss Freda Mary, second dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Kalb-
fleisch of Zurich, was united in mar-
riage to Mr. George J. Deichert, also
of Zurich. Rev. L. H. Kalbfieisch, a
brother of the bride, officiated. The
bride wore a becoming gown of peau
d'ange lace over rose beige, with
thatching` jacquette and accessories.
After the ceremony the happy couple
left for points 'east. On their return
they will reside itt Zurich. Ti;,• Her-
ald joins their many friends in ex-
tending congratulation to this popu-
lar young couple of Zurich.
OBITUARY
Word was received last wt:ek of
the death of Ralph Drysdale ae Du-
buc, Sask. The deceased was in his
57th year and at one time was well
known in this vicinity having been
born and raised at Drysdale. For some
years he was clerk for J. Wisemiller
who ran a general store in Hensall.
About thirty years ago be went west,
residing in Broadview for a rew ye-
ars, later 'moving . to Duluc. Sask.,
where he has since made his home.He'
was married twice, his first wife pre-
deceased him about fourteen years
ago. For the past two years he has
not enjoyed the best of . health. Be-
sides his bereaved wife three children,
Margaret, Jack and Betty, now mo-
urn the loss. 'there are also three
brothers, Robert of Sandusky, Mich.,
Mark of Hensall and Jack of Van-
couver and three sisters, Mrs. Mc-
of Sask., Mrs. Stovell of Mb-
erta and Mrs. W. A. MacLaren of
rlensall. 'Fhc interment took place
on Wednesday of last week in Duluc,
task. cemetery.
