Ex-; :.ept during his vacation, he has been on the job morning and night since February '28th,' 1932, and has won for himself the largest following of any newscaster in the country. Jim vas born in Aberdeen, 'Scotland, and came to Canada at the age of five, Today he is 37, wears glasses and his weight of 170 pounds in genial fashion. Listeners have frequently commented on the impressive terse- ness of his delivery. The delivery is .lis own, but the terseness probably 1,nherited ,from his famous' great -great grandfather, Samuel Hunter, the soldier -surgeon editor of the Glasgow Herald, which celebrated its 1.50th anniversary five years argo, it is our wish that long may Jim Hunter be spared to give us his interesting messages over the air. Mrs. Ruby Magee acquitted at the fall assizes of a cha- rge of murdering her baby, on the grounds of insanity at the time the ad was committed, has been removed from the county jail to an institution for treatment.
