to :safety. - The loss was partially cov-

meeting of the Huron County Coun-
cit suggested the abolition of the co-

Jim Hunter Makes Record
When last Friday evening, Novem-
ber 25th, "Good Friday Evening, Ev-
erybody", came over the radio stat-
ion 'CS+1RB, Toronto, this was Jim
Jim Hunter's, Radio Editor and Talk-
ing Reporter of The Evening Tele
;gam giving his 4,500th newscast. Ex-;
:.ept during his vacation, he has been
on the job morning and night since
February '28th,' 1932, and has won
for himself the largest following of
any newscaster in the country. Jim
vas born in Aberdeen, 'Scotland, and
came to Canada at the age of five,
Today he is 37, wears glasses and
his weight of 170 pounds in genial
fashion. Listeners have frequently
commented on the impressive terse-
ness of his delivery. The delivery is
.lis own, but the terseness probably
1,nherited ,from his famous' great -great
grandfather, Samuel Hunter, the
soldier -surgeon editor of the Glasgow
Herald, which celebrated its 1.50th
anniversary five years argo, it is
our wish that long may Jim Hunter
be spared to give us his interesting
messages over the air.
