Young Son Passes
Much sympathy is extended to Mr.
and Mrs. Alex. Meidinger of the 14th
con., Hay in the loss of their :m!ant
son Anthony, aged 11 months and
29 days. Who passed away on Nov-
m"er 26th, and the remains were
laid to rest on Sunday afternoon in
the French Settlement cemetery, with
the n Trish priest, Rev. Father Martin
officiating.
OBITUARY
Fr. D. L. Brissot,, Passes
Rev. Father Dennis L. Brisson, re-
ctor of Sacred Heart Church, Wind-
sor, uied in that city on Thursday.
Funeral services were held in Sacred
Heart Church on Saturday morning
at 10 o'clock, and burial followed in
St. Peter's ;Ceme'tery, London. Bishop
Kidd sang .pontifical requiem mass.
Father Brisson, 'who was an uncle of
the late Rev. Father Maxime Bris-
son, who died in London last March,
was born in French Settleinent, April
30, 1884. He was ordained alto the
priesthood December 18, 1910, by

oldest citizens and known and resp-
ected throughout Huron County on
Sunday celebrated his birthaey amid
congratulations and best wishes of
his many friends. Hale and hearty,
he still works every day and his
hearty laugh laugh and ready whit
are well known. Millions of dollars
worth of apples, produce and live-
stock have been handled by him dur-
ing his colorful career. For the past
few years he has devoted his time
mainly to the buying of livestock. The
other day he laughingly remarked
that his birthday gift to farmers' this
year would be $8.00 cwt. for hogs.
Many Trees for Xmas.
A thousand acres of Ontario for-
est land will be theoretically denuded
in the next few weeks, as more than
a million homes in Canada and the
United States set up Ontario Christ-
mas trees in their living rooms in
prepatarion for Yuletide season. Offi-
cials of the reforestation department
of the Dept. of Lands and Forests

Moving to England
Hon. R. B. Bennett, former prime
minister of Canada, who spent 18
years in 'the House of Commons, nas
purchased a home in Surey, Eng-
land, about 20 miles south of Lon-
don, and will reside there in the
near future.. Mr. Bennett has just
returned from a three -months srip
in England.

tentions to dictate the conditions un-
der :which foreign business may con-
tinue and foreigners live henceforth
in China. Japan's declaration Includ-
ed a point -by -point denial of every

tle sales at the Royal Winter Fair.
The grand champion weighed 950 lbs
and the runner up 970.
