Mr. and Mrs. James McSpadden
and family, who have during the
past year moved to Zurich from the
West, have this week moved to a
dairy farm near Ilderton, where they
have employment. Mr. McSpadden
was for the past summer employed
with Haberer Bros., Apiarists.
We are pleased to see Mr. Milton
Oesch back at work again after his
accident a few months ago when a
rifle expodled and injured his eye.
While the injured eye is far from
normal, yet Milt is doing the best he
pcssibly can by the use of his good
eye.
The snowfall last week had a very
short duration, as it was followed by
some more real nice and sunny wea-
ther, and this week, while it is gett-
ing a little colder, yet we could not
wish for a.nvthine nicer at this time
of year, as the days are bright with
plenty of sunshine, and nights are
colder will) frost,

Huron Old Boys
The. Hurn, Old Bays' Association
'and_ the Hawn 'County author Assoc-
iation of Toronto are holding their
39th annual At Home in the Eaton
Auditorium, College, and Young Sts.,
on_'Wednesday evening, Nov. 23rd.
Special effort has been made to make
this .hetter and larger than ever.
Huron CO.. Temperance
Fe_clexation Meet
Local hunters are unsuccessful in.
being able to get their usual bag of
wild geese this fall. Somehow this
nice weather they are not to be found
in these parts. The deer hunters
the past week met with better success
as a number were shot and brought
to town, which soon met with many
asking for venison.
A splendid concert is being held in
the Zurich Town Hall on Friday ev-
ening by young people from Hensall,
who have outstanding ability in the
line of entertaining they do. We can
only repeat what we have heard that
their program is out;tanding and
well worth going to see.
A lady citizen of the centre of
town complains of the young boys
ringing door bells, and then scamper
off in the evening. In one occasion
they also tried to lift the windows,
and what not. Parents leave their
youngsters run at large in the even-
ings should warn them to behave
when given these liberties. These
offences are hardly worthwhile call-
ing in the police, and yet they are
very annoying and very ofter badly
scare the housewife.
'The Haien 'County Temperance
Federation cnet in Clinton on. Tues -
d4, Nov. 15th. Over 50 delegates
were 'Present. The following resolut-
io4 were passed: Resolved that we,
of `tkQ Huron County Temperance
Association, in annual convention as-
sembled in Clinton this day, do emph-
atically protest against the issuance'
of authorities for the sale of liquor,
in beverage rooms within the bounds
of this County in violation of the.
Canada Temperance Act, which has;
been declared to be in force in Hur-
on County by the Supreme Court of
Canada, and the validity or whielr
has been afiirined by the Privy Coun-
cil. And that we again demand of
the Ontario Government the carce;e1l-
ation of the authorities that have
been issued in this County. Resolved
that we protest against the repeated
and unwarranted delay, which delay
is profitable to the liquor interests,
in the appeal to the Supreme Court
pronunised by Premier Hepburn at
Kincardine in 1937. Resoived that
leicause of its vital importance, we
urge the immediate hearing of and
judgment on the Solomon rase of
Manitoulin Ilsland. This case was
presented to the Supreme ey.urt of
Ontario in June last and was de-
ferred to the fall, and was Iisted
later to appear on Nov. 8th, and
which has been again further post-
poned. Resolved that copies of the
above resolution be sent to the Pre
mier of the Province, the Attorney -
General of the Province, the local
Members of the Provincial House
and to the press. Resolved that we
further authorize the executive of
Our county federation to institute
any test case, on the matter of the
beverage rooms that they may deem
advisable. Resolved that we recom
mend the advance of a temperance
educational program through Ioca-
rallies and picnics to be held semi
annually. Resolved that we commend
the findings of the Older Boys' Par•
'lament of Ontario in favor 01 the
temperance issue, and that we instr
uct the executive to advance the in
terests of the Youth Temperance
Federation.
