IS ACQUITTED Mrs. Wm. Magee, 37 yr. old Morris Twp. farmer's wife, on Wednesday of last week was »acquitted on a charge of mnrdereeg, her ten • months old da- ughter, Mild ed ' Ruth . The oecrsion was rendered by the jury at Goder- ich without leaving the courtroom; and on instruction of the trial judge Mr. Justice C. P. McPague. Mrs. Ma- gee took the verdict quietly as did the spectators, for it was evident to all that the Court and the Crown were in »accord with the trend of the defence, that the accused was not re- sponsible mentally for her action in drowning the child. Eight neighbors and :Friends Of the accused added their testimony to the expert evid- ence of two psychiatrists, who testi- fied. Mrs. Magee was insane when she drowned her only child. She was taken to a mental Hosnital until' such. time'that she is well again. fliulrsda , Novizliri. i ,).fitliy.. • 040+44.64.444.4.4.4.1++4.4.4.+4.444.54 .1. 41:.+4.4.4**444.44.14++++++t • 1 YOUR a Hardware and Furniture • t S TORE 44.
