We are in receipt from a Reader
in Chicago who says: "Dear Editor,
I read your little item in the Herald
about our "Daylight Saving Time".
Thought you. might be interested in
the attached clipping which appeared
in the Chicago Tribune last week:-
Set your clocks back one hour before
you retire tonight. When you get up
tomorrow morning:daylight =wing
time will be over for 1938. The ofli
cial time .for turning the clock back
is at 2 a,rn. tomorrow the last Sunday
in September. Chicagoans have saved
154 hours .of daylight since the last
Sunday in April -the day each year
that the, salvage of time begins, This
haS.'ineant 60 minutes Irgre each ey,
ening for the enjoyment of spring
and summer weather. It has allowed
an extra hour of safety, outside play
for children. It has perm:tted an ad-
ditional period of relaxation in the
cool of evening before night closes in
Soon -because daylight time is end-
ed--Chicao-oins will start going home
