Auto Accident
What might have been an even
more serious accident occurred last
wednesday evening on the .Zurich
Road just east of the Babylon line,
when the autos of R. F. Stade, driv-
en by Inn son Harold and Mr. Fred
Thiel in charge of his own car coll-
ided or sideswiped each other when
they were meeting. At this point the
road is not any too wide and some-
how they hit with tremendous fo;ice
and then took to the ditch which bro-
ught the machines to a stop. Both
cars are damaged to the extent of
several hundred dollars, and fortun-
ately no windows were broken, and

CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING
A very interesting day in the life
of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Rau of Zur-
ich was held on Saturday when this
r'enial couple of fifty years ago cele-
brated their fiftieth wedding anniver-
sary. The occasion was .fittingly ob-
served by a soc.alled second `wedding'
at St. Boniface Church, Zurich, with
Rev. Father L. W. Power the parish.
priest officiating. After the morning
church masse the happy couple and
about 100 guests paraded in decor-
ated automobiles to Grand Bend wh-
ere they occupied the entire Imperial
Hotel for the day. The evening activ-
ities included a reception for about
250 guests, when speeches of felicit-
ation ,were extended Mr. and Mrs.
Rau. The vdteran-weds will honey-
moon in Chicago—their original hon-
eymoon being spoiled by wet weath-
er. Mr. and Mrs. Rau (Miss Rose
Etue) were married 50 years ago,
September 25th at Drysdale, after
farming some years they moved to
Zurich where they kept hotel for
some years later moving on a farm
north of town, till a few years 'a,go
they retired to Zurich. Mr. Rau has

Mr. and Mrs. Smith, who are 73 a nd
68 years old respectively and are en-
joying the best of health, were r.remar-
ried on .Sept. 22, 1888, by
Wrn. Fife, of the Crediton United
church. Mrs. Smith was formerly
Miss mary Klumpp they located oe
farm in Stephen where they resided
ever since. Have six children living
one being deceased.
MRS SENIOR PASSES
The death took place in Exeter on
Friday last of a lifelong resident of
that community in the person of Mrs
Joseph Senior who passed away in
her 75th year. Mrs. Senior had been
in frail health for a number of years
and a year ago suffered a heart attack
At that time she was quite i11 but

name was Almeana Wood. Born on
the 4th con. of Usborne, and was one
of a family of ten children. 11
FARMERS TO VOTE
Huron .County farmers are to be
given the opportunity of voting in
favor or against the Federal Restric-
ted Area (Plan, for the eradication
