SPRAYING OF WEEDS
County Engineer T. R. Patterson
of Goderich reports that weeds a
long 140 miles of the principal road:
ef the. County have been sprayed
far this year, and he expects this
mileage will be doubled by the ono
of the season. Some little effects has
been Sioted, but the degree to which
permanent results have been -effected
will not be known until next year. He
points out that the County during
the last 15 years spent $3,000 to
$4,000 annually for weed-cutting,and
each succeeding year saw no deplet-
ion in the ranks of the weeds. This
year's application of
cost $7,000, but in throe seasons the
growth should be negligible. The
spray used is called "atlacide," and
is a combination Of somiurn chlorate
and calcium chloride Mixture in
many blessing received.
