Bean is Burned
The news reached town on Mon-
day afternoon that the barn and •con-
tents of Me. George Clarke on the
Goshen line, Stanley, took fire that
afterre: on and was destroyed._ Thi es-

and something went wrong in the
blower of the machine and fire st-
arted and before it could be stopped
the flames were out of control.

BAND TATOO SUCCESS
Hensel]. Band Tatoo held Wednes-
day of last week attracted a record
crowd. With seven bands participat-
ing, the program was one of the best
v:arcl in they tillage in a number of
years. The tattoo commenced with a
parade of bands from United church
t4 Moir Memorial Park, where Walter
Spene,ar• acted as chairman. 'i he bands
participating were Hensel], Dashwood
Zurich, 1'_.eter, St. Marys, Sarnia
Boys' Band and Parkhill. A street
dance followed the tet•too when
Shorty Grant's orchestra provided
music. During the evening a midway
was in full operation.
CLINTON WINS GROUP
As was expected Clinton won the
final play-off scales from Co:'.erich on

FIRE AT VARNA

LIGHTNING STRIKES OFFICE

.Evelyn Regan, of Mt. Carmel, has
issued a Supreme writ against the
County of Huron. She is claiming un-
stated damages as the result of ie -
juries received in a motor car accid
ent on a county road last June 4th.
