More Motor Licenses
The Provincial Highway Depart-
ment reports that 585,000 motor ve-
laicle licenses have been issued this'
year, more than 60,000 above the
number issued in 1937. Considerable
complaint has been made of the poor
visibility of the numbers of this year
but they seen to meet favor with
John Public when he buys 00,000
niore, or is it the decrease in price!
A LEGAL PROBLEM
An unusual situation was revealed
to authorities at Goderich recently,
when John Zuefle, aged 79, of Hensall
.asked legal advice as to his standing
and also that of his family. Mr. Zile -
fie carne to Canada 56 years ago from
•Thonbach, Wurtemburg, Germany,
and setled in Hay -Township. Many
years ago the village clerk at Hensall
'.gave him a paper which Zuefle thou -
lilt was to recognize his naturalizati-
an, but he foixncl out only recently
that he had 'not been naturalised lit
the intervening years he married a
Canadian girl, who by law became
German, while their children were
'British subjects. Mr. Zuefle also vot-
ed, was a member of Hay Township
Council, and for some years past has
been a recipient of the old age pen-
sion, for no one of which was he
legally eligible. The 'co:nplicat case
has been r'eferred to the Secretary of
State at Ottawa for a decision, which
is to be headed dein on Sept€ntllt?'

Perth League game played on the
lo.cal diamond. Zurich scored four
rune in the third inning and added
two more in the fifth and two more
in the seventh. Heideman, was in the
mound far Zurich and pitched a.
farly good game. Hensall hacl their

On Monday evening Guar boys went
to I-Ierasall and played the return:
game, and took with them the kal-
sarnine brush well excused as they
shut them out 7-0 in a rather one-
sided game. Heideman, the Zurich
pitcher was in very rare form allow-
ing the hoarse team; only three scat-
tered hits, and had the game well in
hand at all timesw, while the Zkrich
team hit the Hensall pitchers almost
at will and piled up a nice score. The
Zurich pitcher,, Heideman received
airtight support from his mates <tnd
