Mrs, Hannah Boyce, a former resi-
dent of Stanley passed away at her
hoame in (aoderieh on Friday June
3rd. Her maiden name was Hannah
Palmer, her husband Mr. Janes
Boyce posed away some years ago.

Willie of Goderieh and Frank of St-
anley and one daughter, IIrs, W.

At the annual meeting of the South
Huron Women's Institute held in
Thames Road United Church on June
1, Mrs. Arthur Rundle, Hurondale,
'was elected president. There were

Late John GaIt
John Galt, postmaster of •Goderich
for 41 years, died on June 3rd in his
78th year. He had been conlmect to
his home for nearly two years with
a heart ailment. Members of a distin-
guished family, he was a grandson of
John Galt, Canada Company manag-
er and author, founder of Guelph and
Gederich, and builder of the Huron
road. was also a nephew of Sir Alex-
ander T. Galt, one of the founders of
Confederation. His wife who survives
was a daughter of Hon. ?T. tee Confer-.
on, first lieutenant -,governor of the

slated to be heard at the general
sessions, which open at Goderich on
Tuesday this week befeee Judge J. L.
Killoran, of Perth County. Einer ICel-
ler of Exeter faces a charge of cat-
tle-thieving. He is alleged to have
stolen a steer from the pasture field
of Fred Ho.ggarth, and transported it
to Mitchell where he disposed of it.
Mrs. A. Davidson of. Thedford, is su-

and Harry Lewis of Stephen for $500
damages and coats, allegedly soused
when Lewis, on instruction from
Alexander, trespassed and removed a
threshing separator from plaintiff's
property, returning the machine in a
damaged condition, this is a jury
!ction. Another jury action is that of
Gerfield McMichael, of Colborn i,who
seeks $50(1 from the Western Fann-
ers' Mutual eWather Ins. Co. for
1anagee caused his bard and drive-
shed by windstorm, ;Plaintiff took out
