The heavy rains of the past week followed by nice warm weather this week is establishing a good growth. In fac teverything is coming along nicely. Prospects are for a big crop of hay, fall wheat, and the spring field crops are looking very good al- so. While the gardens have not done so well the past week, biut they are picking up nicely now. Very insp .' ing and approri;:te ser- mons were delivered in the Evangel- ical church on Sunday morning and evening to large audience-, when the new pastor, Rev. C. 0. Heckendorn delivered his introductory sermons to the Zurich congregation, and while .he was ordained in this church in 1930, it was .the first time that h e had the :privilege of preaching there- in. The ,Iieckendern family is now getting nicely settled and they are being welcomed in Zurich. Checking on Rerlectors The Highway Department are bearing down on motorists in this vicinity at the present time. Brakes windshield wipers and horns are being tested, and permits being asked for 'mong other thing,. and a drive is i'eing made to prevent glaring head- lights. Information obtained from Traffic Officer Lever regarding h.ead- 'i gh,ts revealed that plain reflectors with plain glass lenses are contrary to haw as the glare is not reduced. Where either the lense or reflector is ribbed however .the glare xh' cur clown. Bren- ner of Kitchener were weekend vis- itors 'at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John l3renner, Mr. and -Mrs. Harry Siemon- and daughter Lois; Mrs. Alex. Foster and daughter Ruth all of London, were visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Meidinger one day -last week. Mr. E. M Dagg, manager of the Bank of Montreal, Zurich, left this week for Ottawa, where word came that his father was seriously ill, and when Mr. Dagg arrived at Ottawa, his father had passed en. Mr. and Mrs. David Gingerich have returned from attending the Mission- ary Board Conference of the Men- nonite church, held at the large As- sembly Tabernacle just cast of Kit- chener, where several thousand dele- gates and visitors gathered.
