and began working on the cobbler's
bench. Shoes were practically all

Fritz learned the trade from the bot-
om up. During the first few years
he worked at Zurich, Crediton and
Dashwood, from where he came to
Zurich and started a retail business
and has continuously been here since.
With the coming of the automobile,
Mr. Fritz lost no time in getting in
the salosmenship of this fast corning
and fast moving vehicle, and with
the increased volume of business in
this line, it was deemed aatoiable to
part with 'the boot and shoe retail
end of the business, Stock will be
taken at an early date and Mr.. Dat -
ars, the new proprietor will soon be
in charge, and we jain the many fri-
ends in wishing Mr. Daters every suc-

Ross—Wilhelm
A quiet, but very pretty wedding
was solemnized on Saturday noon,
May 14th, at Bridgeport Evangelical
parsonage when Helen Barbara,
elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Isreal Wilhelm, Milverton, became
the .bride of Wallace Alexander Ross,
younger son of Mrs. William A. Ross
of Kippen, and the late Mr. William
A. Rooss. Rev. W. Y. Dreier offici-
ated. The bride looked charming in
her floor length gown of pink net
over taffeta with a taffeta bolero
jacket with silver stitching and ware
a coronet of orange blossoms in her
hair. She carried a bouquetof Talis-
m an roses with maiden hair fern.
The bride and bridegroom were un-
attended, Immediately after the
:eremony a dainty wedding dinner
was served at Chicopee Tea Room,
at Kitchederr, the table being cen-
tred with the bride's wedding. cake.
Later in the afternoon the young
couple left for a 'honeymoon to Nia-
gara Palls, Buffalo and other points.
The bride's going away dress was
:levy blue embroidered sheer with a
white jigger coat, white hat and
white accessories to match. Upon
their return they will reside in Sea-
fonth.
Mr. Ken. Routledge of Stratford
was a visitor at his home here.
Miss Martha Heideman who is.
training, at Sarnia Hospital, spent the
past week at her home here.
Miss Ethel Fowlie of Bayfield is
spending the week with her sister,
Mrs. Gid. Koehler.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin ,Schilbe were
visitors with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. G. Swan, Brucefield.
Mrs. Broadfoot was a Monday 'ev-
ening caller at the home of Mrs. C.

Mr. Roy Oliver of London, is at
present .spending some time at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Weber.
Rev. E. Burn will preach his fare-
well sermon in the Evangelical church
next Sunday evening.
Mrs. Lorne Bridges and baby
Francis of Stratford, are at present
spending some time at the home of
Mrs. B. Pfile.
Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Stade were
recent guests at the home 'of Mr.
Stades sister, Mr. and Mrs. John
Eidt of New Hamburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Pfile of Mt,
Clemens, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Clay-
ton Pfile, Dashwood and Mr. and Mrs
W. H. Pfile of near Hensall; Mr. and
Mrs. Garnet Jacobe and son Laird of
Parr Line, were Sunday guests at thc
home of Mrs. Lydia Pfile.
