Word has been received here last
week that Jan Sink, a former well-
known.resident 'of Hensall, had pass-
ed away on Easter Sunday at the
Simcoe hospital. He has resided at
Delhi for several years .and was in
his 35th year. Over 20 years ago he
came to Hensall district to .reside
from Holland accompanied by 'his
:mother and two sisters.

The citizens of town was aroused
on Sunday morning when it was lear-
ned that fire believed to have 'been.
caused by an exploding brooder stove
completely destroyed a colony•house
at the rear of the residence of Olaf
Pedersen. Three hundred pullets
which had just :been placed hi it the
day before were also burned: Prompt
action on the part of the Dashwood:
fire 'brigade prevented the fire sprea�
ding to nearby buildings.
Mothers' Day was observed in the.
Evangelical church last Sunday. Ap-
propriate music was rendered by the
choir at both services. A special pro-
gram consisting of a boys chorus, a
male quartette, a reading by Joyce
1nglancl and. an interesting story by
Mrs. G. Wildfong was given in the

ughter, Dorotohy Bene, was united
in marriage to Glenn Robert, son of
Wan. and the Late Mrs. ,Slavin of
Hensall. 'The .ceremony was perform-
ed
erformed by Rev. A. W. Shepherd of Eg;-
xnorldville. The wedding music was
played by Miss Thelma Elgie, bride's
,only ,sister.,Din.ner was served after
which the bridal couple left for Win-
dsor and Detroit. On their ;return
they avail -reticle on the groom's farm
near Hensall.
