Williams, the oldest resi- dent of Clandeboye district (Lied at her home in her 97th year. Native of Biddolph Twp., she was a lifelong resident of the district. Before her marriage 70 years ago, she was Fran ces Neil, daughter of Dan Neil. Her husband predeceased her a number of years .ago. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Methodist church and later of the United church. Surviving are a son; two grandchildren, The funeral was held to St. James cem- etery, Clandeboye,. Dies in Moose Jaw Word was received of the death of Mrs. James Thomson, of Moose Jaw, a former resident and sister of Mr. James Swan, of Brucefield. An early pioneer of the But alo district and for the past 36 years a resident of Moose Jaw, where she was much beloved and respected. She passed a- way at the age of 71 years. She was married to the late James Thompson in her native town of Brucefield,Ont. in 1891, her Maiden name being Jane Ann Ewan. Mrs. Robinson Dies Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson of Goder- ich, widow of Capt. Robinson and mother of Capt. Ed. Robinson, com- modore of the C. S. L. fleet, died suddenly in her 89th year, Her husb- and was for years a Great Lakes skipper and latterly a lighthouse ke- eper at Goderich. Born in Ireland the family settled in Galt. In 1872 she married and carne to Goderich. Grah- am Robinson of Toronto i, another son, and .Miss Lottie, of the public school teaching staff, Goderich, a da- ughter. Funeral was held Tuesday. Retires from Ministry On Sunday last Rev. A. W. Shep- herd, who has been minister of Eg- mondville United Church for the past two years, notified his congregation that he is resigning from the ministry in June. Mr. Shepherd has 38 years of servise. He carne to Egnmondville after five years at Chatham. Other charges he has had include Leaming- ton, Alvinston, Parkhill and Mark - dale. Mr .and Mrs. Shepherd have not yet decided where they will make their home. Asked to Buy Own Gun Elwood Epps, Clinton, sport goods salesman, was given a mild surprise when a customer walked into his shop with a gun he wished to deal in and operated along with the milling of flour. Older residents of Clinton and in which Epps recognized his own gun, stolen from him more than five years afo. Numbers and markings on the gun made it a simple :matter to prove ownership. The piece had passed through several hands as the customer could testify and Mr. Epps is now busy tracing back through those known to have had it in their possession, hoping thus to apprehend the thief. Motor Accident Sunday last early while Reg. Beavers of Exeter was on his way home from Sarnia the car he was driving collided with another car-thiv ven by H. Ashton, of St. Thomas, and both cars took to the ditch and were badly damaged. Beavers was only about a anile and a half from home and as the hour was late he was :Feeling drowsy ailfd failed to turn out when coming up to the Ash ton ear which cantained. Mr. and Mrs Ashton and their daughter and a brother driving. The latter two were in the back set Asleep and escaped un hurt. Mrs. Ashton was thrown again- st the front of the car and her chest was injured. Mr. Ashton was injured in the back and it was feared of a fracture. Beavers suffered a :slight bruise and Miss Dowie of Sarnia, who was with Beavers, suffered a cut ov- er the eye which required four stit- ches and was otherwise bruised.
