In the minutes we notice that the council is calling for tenders ,.o purchase a large power grader for cne Township „roads. This, we think _a a step in the right direction, a: our township roads need just some• thing like this to keep the roads in getter condition during the summer months when traffic as heaviest. But we hope the council will not overlook the matter in purchasing a machine that can also be used in the w-intea months to combat against the snow, as the time is here when people or the concessions demand the road, opened up in winter 'when there de - only a reasonable . amount of snoW thereon, and they have a right tc 1:e this dena.and, With the Pro'- • _ telsui.,;' ever the two main reed through Zurich and Dashwood thin spring, it seems only reasonable that the concessions should be kept open as feeders to these roads which when taken over will receive the best o' attention in the winter as well as in theh• summer. Little should be the ratepayers afraid of this extra exp ense, as the Province pays half of this money expended, and with the roads in the bad condition they were his winter, many an auto has suf- red a breakage account that would casil pay f •t of he (Tending ' •of yern P g miles of ordinarily snow drifter roads which could be opened in a very short tune with the proper (pigment.
