A MERRY CHRISTMAS To -our many readers and friends, your Publisher extends a very 'Merry Christmas, and may this Yuletide season be inspired with the signifac- ence of the occasion. The first Christmas observed in the ancient little hamlet of Bethlehem nearly two thousand years ago, thought little of what this would mean to the ye.arS and generations to coine. A great many people, we are sorry to say, for the balance of the year have little or no time for Christianity, but when Christmas season comes along, they rally with the more devoted 0110S, and overlook the difficulties of life and say "It's Christmas Time." We—trust that one and all of this area in which our ublication is read; that each and everyone will have Very Merry Christmas. In Police Court Goderich—In addition to the 27! charges of breaking, entering:and theft to which they pleaded guilty one week ago and were each senten: ced to five years in Kingston Pea,* two of them admitted three addition- al offences of the same nature and were given five years each, the: Sen- tences to run concurrently..
